F.olding

Our interest in folding shapes is to inform architectural space based on 4 categories. These were; the brief, which dealt with programmatic requirements, internal acoustic control, amplitude, and desired noise transmission between programs. The collective data helped determine the initial digital folding shape. In addition, we also listed 4 rationales of folding. The number of folds related to the amount of noise in the space, how folding shapes continued to become furniture, the malleability of the space based on its folding shape and the generation of new folding shapes based on program. We felt it was important to realise the project pragmatically. Therefore the final design outcome appeared to be a more conventional type of architecture.
