URBAN LOBBY

Exploiting dormant spaces that exist above urban ground levels, Urban Lobby offers a place to be for anyone, at any time. Urban lobby is a place to be when one has no other place to be, or no other place suitable to perform their desired activity. Private modular spaces in public spaces offer hybrid environments suitable for a host of activities. Sticky surfaces and barriers zone areas according to activity requirements. This modular architecture offers greater potential to provide flexible spaces in urban settings than traditional extruded building typologies. It allows penetration of sunlight and ventilation to lower street levels and offers possabilities for intermediary spaces to form between modules to integrate additional programs. Options to open up or close off individual modules presents the potential to personalise and adapt space through manipulation of flexible localised environmental conditions to meet specific activity requirements.
