Junya Watanabe, techno-couture, 2000
A creative fashion designer, Junya watanabe, is renowned for designing innovative and unique clothing. His design is well-known exceptionally for his synthetic and technologically advanced textiles and fabrics as found in his spring/summer 2001 line. It is special because of how the fabric wraps around the body out of one seamless piece. He also has interests in traditional materials such as cotton as shown in his spring/summer 2003 collection where he experimented with patterns and colours. His most original work, the techno-couture creates unusual structure in clothing style, out of modern, mix-used of technical material, his vision can be seen in his fall/winter 2000 collection as shown above. The most stunning part of the couture is the neck ruff which consists of series of parametrically folded fabrics.
